Friday, April 23 to Sunday, April 25th
Langwathby Village Hall, Penrith, Cumbria
Quantum Physics and Lakota Healing: Lewis Mehl-Madrona combines his background in Lakota/Cherokee traditional healing with his modern day medical training (as an MD). Join us for an exploration of indigenous models of thinking, venture into parallel universes to discover the roots of contemporary therapies such as energy medicine, narrative approaches, constellation work and the use of ceremony and ritual in this unique approach to holistic healing. We will explore how to incorporate the philosophies and methods of Native American healers into our own therapeutic work, both directly and as a source of inspiration.
Cherokee Body Work
Monday, April 26th to Wednesday, April 28th
Long before Columbus visited the Americas, aboriginal people had methods of hands-on healing that is similar to what is now called osteopathy. Indeed, many Native scholars believe that A.J. Still, the originator of American osteopathy, took many of his techniques from the Pawnee Nation, for whom he was the physician. Lewis Mehl-Madrona has studied Cherokee style body work or osteopathy in a traditional manner and will teach this work to participants. Cherokee Body Work combines energy healing with hands-on work. Join Lewis Mehl-Madrona in this beautiful setting for a two-day intensive in bringing the embodied component into your understanding of energy medicine.
